Impact of Globalization on Indian Youth: A Sociological Study with Special Reference to Degree College Students of Hathras District

Abstract

Globalization has significantly influenced Indian youth, reshaping their education, career aspirations, cultural identity, and social behaviours. With the advent of digital technology, global media, and economic liberalization, young individuals have greater exposure to diverse cultures, career opportunities, and lifestyle choices. This paper aims to assess the socio-economic and cultural effects of globalization on degree college students in Hathras district. Through qualitative and quantitative methods, the study highlights shifts in educational aspirations, lifestyle changes, employment opportunities, and value systems. The findings reveal how globalization has created both opportunities and challenges, leading to economic empowerment but also cultural conflicts and mental health concerns. The paper includes statistical data, tables, graphs, and charts to provide a comprehensive analysis. Additionally, it explores how students are adapting to global influences while balancing traditional Indian values. The study provides policy recommendations to ensure that globalization benefits young individuals without eroding their cultural identity and well-being.
