DATA SHARING AND DATA AVAILABILITY POLICY

Annals of Education encourages responsible data sharing to promote research transparency, reproducibility, verification, and scholarly collaboration. The journal recognizes that data availability may vary depending on the nature of the research, ethical requirements, privacy considerations, and applicable regulations.

Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to make the data supporting their research findings available whenever ethically, legally, and practically possible. Where relevant, authors should provide a Data Availability Statement describing how and where the supporting data can be accessed.

Data Sharing

Authors may deposit research data in appropriate institutional, disciplinary, or recognized public repositories. Where data cannot be made openly available, authors should clearly explain the applicable restrictions, such as privacy, confidentiality, ethical, legal, or third-party ownership requirements.

Responsible Data Sharing

Authors must ensure that shared research data does not compromise participant privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property rights, or ethical obligations. Personally identifiable or sensitive information must not be disclosed without appropriate authorization and safeguards.

Data Integrity and Accuracy

Authors are responsible for ensuring that shared datasets are accurate, appropriately documented, and consistent with the research presented in the published article. Any relevant restrictions or conditions associated with the use of shared data should be clearly stated.

Data Availability Statement

Where applicable, authors should include a clear statement indicating whether the supporting data are:

  • Publicly available through a recognized repository;
  • Available from the authors upon reasonable request; or
  • Not publicly available due to ethical, legal, privacy, or other legitimate restrictions.

Exceptions

The journal recognizes that data sharing may not always be possible. Research involving confidential information, human participants, proprietary data, or other restricted materials may require appropriate limitations on data access.
